Posting on your blog should be an important part of your marketing strategy. Some will tell you to post every day. I find that difficult to do sometimes and I think if you do it atleast 1 time per week that should be sufficient. 

It’s a great place to post on any topic you wish but remember to also focus on a theme that interests you and that you are willing to engage other readers in.

Some factors to think about to get your blog ranked higher in the search engines are to pick a keyword that you wish to target. In your post use the keyword you picked at least 5 times throughout the article. Bold, italic, and underline the keyword a few times. Use the keyword in the title, and near the top and bottom of your page.

 If you are writing about something relevent to your affiliate website, use the keyword in your link back to your website.

If you are a beginner blogger I would suggest starting at blogger.com. If you are more advanced and want more control and freedom with your blog then use wordpress.

Unless you set up automatic pinging with wordpress, you will need to take your new posts and ping them to the search engines and blog directories. This alerts these mediums that you have new content and they will publish your fresh content.

This is a very easy process. You can use either Pingoat.com or Pingomatic.com to ping your new post. These two sites will do the same thing. Once you’re there enter your blogs name and the URL of the home page of your blog. Check all the boxes and hit submit. It will take about a minute so wait until it is completed.
